Michael has decided to go by "Mike." At his preschool, the teacher had written on a board the names of several of the kids. There was a Michael K, and further down a "Mike".
Later, going to the car, he told me about it. He added that some of his friends were still calling him Michael.

Be thankful his "name change" is so minor. At that age, my sister C changed her name to "Suzy" and made all of her teachers and friends call her that. And of course, we all had to call her that, too, as she wouldn't answer to anything but. I think she even has a mug imortalizing this phase. Of course, now she goes by 'Lu ;)
It's great that she has a Suzy mug! So funny. I'm curious to see whether this "Mike" thing continues. He hasn't mentioned it over the last few days.
