It's springing slowly. The catkins appeared a couple weeks ago. Last few days the birds -- song sparrows (?) -- have been more vocal. Around here we usually get a false spring early on, followed by a last bout of wintry yuck, but I think we may have turned the corner.

Amie, sorry to hear about the willow toast...maybe you could score another sapling from grandma?

And it makes me realize the real shame in our pussy willow not making it through last summer. Bad location = fried sapling from grandma's yard.
